This is my outfit for English high tea at the Prince of Wales drawing room! It was an amazingly tasty experience. The food (and tea) was delicious. This outfit features my coat from ModCloth and some pieces from various other stores.

I tried to put together a somewhat classy outfit however the monochrome colours were completely unintentional. I even bought a tiny fascinator-like hat for the occasion.
The top is an older Forever21+ top with floral lace sleeves. The shirt is actually really flowy so I tucked it into the skirt, so the outfit would look somewhat like a little black dress. The skirt is a pleated Forever21+ piece that I've featured before in this outfit.
The tights are from Addition Elle, in a size 2X. They fit surprisingly well on my huge thighs - so well that I've bought them in every colour. These tights have also been worn in this outfit.
As I said before, the coat is from ModCloth. I've posted about it on it's own here and reviewed it is as well. I wore it mostly for a pop of colour, and because I thought the vintage style would be well suited at an event like this. Wearing the coat and the pleated skirt made me feel like I was wearing a petticoat under it though (which isn't bad).
I searched far and wide for a fascinator that would work well with this outfit. I thought a fascinator would be the perfect accessory for English tea, however I was the only one wearing one at the entire event. Most fascinators I found were too expensive, or had to be shipped in from another country. This one was only $15 from Claires. It is held on by alligator clips, so you don't need to fuss with it which is very convenient. There is so much detail in the hat that didn't show up in the photo, it really is a beautiful little thing.
The bag is a new purchase from Danier Leather. I bought it on sale for $79.99 during their "Black Friday" sale which is great because I always love a good deal. The bag is made of soft leather and the chain strap can be removed, and the bag is transformed into a clutch. Love it!
And here's a photo of the amazing spread. Everyone gets their own teapot with whatever tea your heart desires. The tea here is so good it doesn't even need milk or sugar. You are then served finger sandwiches and all sorts of pastries and tea biscuits. Delish!
